Central European Gas Hub

Central European Gas Hub AG (CEGH, formerly known as Gas Hub Baumgarten) is a natural gas company in Austria. It was founded in 2000. CEGH is owned by OMV Gas & Power GmbH (80%) and Wiener Börse AG (Vienna Stock Exchange) 20%[1] It is operated as a subsidiary of OMV Gas International.

Central European Gas Hub provides a trading platform at the a gas hub in Baumgarten an der March, close to Slovakian and Hungarian borders. Approximately one third of all gas exports from Russia to Western Europe pass through the natural gas junction in Baumgarten. The Baumgarten physical gas hub is wholly owned by OMV.

In late 2008 a deal was going to make iCEGH's owners Gazprom (30%), OMV (30%), Centrex Europe Energy and Gas AG (20%) and Vienna Stock Exchange (20%). The article The Shadowy Side of Gazpromäs Expanding Central European Gas Hub raised questions about the arrangements.[2]
